Chapter 15
Salt, sun and squash
Daniel: Imagine starting your workday with a short ferry ride, feeling the sun on your face, and settling into your desk with a peaceful view of the Mooloolaba River. Enjoying lunch by the wharf or taking a quick stroll to the beach just two minutes away. That was the daily life at Salty Spaces in Mooloolaba – and it was more than I ever could have hoped for.
Settling in was easy. New acquaintances from the office quickly became friends, and after work, we met for squash games, runs along the coast, and weekend hikes. As a bonus, casual coffee chats in the office sparked new opportunities and leads for Sara’s freelance work. I was introduced to the Australian sounds of RÜFÜS DU SOL, which have been on repeat in my playlists ever since.
It was the little things – shared music tastes, coffee chats, and spontaneous beach trips during lunch breaks – that made Salty Spaces more than just an office. It became an experience I’ll never forget.
