Chapter 24
Hello Canada
New country, new climate, new adventure. It was finally time to begin our next big chapter, and after a long journey from Bali – with pit stops in Singapore and Seattle – we finally arrived in Vancouver. It’s a city that holds a special place in my heart, as I moved there nearly 8 years ago to study. A place full of good memories.
We had to get used to the temperature again and dig out our long pants. But that said, our time in Vancouver has brought with it many great moments and experiences.
We’ve had beers with both new and old acquaintances. Luis and Liam, two guys I lived with 8 years ago in the “mouse house,” luckily still live here – though in new homes. A joyful reunion. On top of that, Daniel got the chance to play badminton with Liam and his crew. We also seized the opportunity to join a sangria-and-taco party at Daniel’s office, checked out another Sofar concert, and not least, went on a bunch of awesome hikes in the wild nature just a stone’s throw from the city. I love it. When the chance came to see a hockey game at Rogers Arena, of course, we jumped on it. A really fun and entertaining experience. Our big dream of skiing in Whistler also came true! It was a magical day.
When we left Australia, we thought we were done with being on guard in our home. But we were wrong. Shortly after moving in, we had a visit from a little 4-legged friend. See if you can spot a mini-mouse.
